Disney Park apps are powerful tools to help you make the most of your Disney trip. Here are the best ways to use the apps
1. Ride wait times: The best thing about the app is being able to see wait times without having to walk all the way across the park. You can strategically plan your day at the trip. It will also let you know if a ride has broken down so you don’t waste any time.
2. Max Pass: Speaking of time, the Max Pass was the latest upgrade to the Disney app that makes getting fast passes simple. For $10 per person, you can book fast passes from your phone (this is already available on the Disney World App). Initially I thought it was overrated, but with savy planning, I was able to ride all major attractions 3 times each.
3. Finding Characters in the Park: The Disney App has been instrumental to our ability to see characters. They let us know where and when to find characters. Catch a character after a ride, before a meal, whenever you can. You can even filter the list of characters to the specific park you are in.
4. Dining Reservation: Use the app to make last minute dinner reservations at sit down restaurants. This may not be extremely monumental at the California parks, but it's a big deal when there are about 140 restaurants at the Disney World parks. For some restaurants, it is necessary to make a reservation if you want any chance of eating there (You can see that the Blue Bayou at Disneyland is not even available for Valentine’s 2019). Most reservations can be made a max of 60 days in advance.
5. Play Disney: Wait lines are getting notoriously long (we waited 3 hours in line for the Avatar Flight of Passage ride). The Play Disney app makes wait times more interesting. Play games, test your trivia knowledge, earn badges.
6. Order Food: This is one of the newer features of the Disney app and it seems to be expanding. At select restaurants you can order and pay for your food ahead of time and pick it up upon arrival. This is a great feature to take advantage of because a lot of time can be lost waiting in line just to order food.
Hopefully these tips convince you to download the app and use it to its fullest potential. It has definitely made navigating the park much easier.
