Tools to Planning Your Best Trip

Recently a friend of ours asked for our advice when planning a Disneyland trip. This question sparked an idea for a blog post. When planning your own Disney trip, you have to ask yourself what is your goal for your time at the park. Based on your goal, there are some steps you can take to make sure you have the best time possible.

1. Characters. If your goal is to see as many characters as possible, we suggest you download the Disney app. The app has a setting where you can see where characters are and how long they will be out. This is a helpful tool because it will prevent you from missing any characters and you can have an idea of what order to see characters in.  You can see more on how we were able to use the app and see nearly 30 characters in one day in our blog post.

2. Rides. If you are looking to get on as many rides as possible you must take advantage of tools like the Fast Pass, Max Pass, and Fast pass +. All these types of fast passes allow you to come back and ride the attraction at a different time and skip most of the attraction’s queue. Using Fast passes will help you get on as many rides as possible because it saves you time waiting in line.

3. Food. Disney parks are home to some great food! If you are a foodie, there are some highly rated restaurants you can visit at the park. When you visit the park website, you can see which restaurants are highly rated by Trip Advisor. If you are and Instagram foodie, follow Disney Eats and the Disney Parks Blog for some of the latest Instagram snacks to track down yourself. Do your research and you can be in a foodies paradise.

4. Site See. All the parks have very scenic places to take photos. If you grab a park map, you will see different Nikon photo spots. Take a picture of the view, or have it be the backdrop to a great family photo. I also suggest doing a photo challenge. Have a list of items in the park to take a photo of, and everybody in your party completes the challenge. Michaela and I did this when we went to Disney World, and it made our trip much more interactive. It allowed us to really appreciate the details that went into the park.
