Disney’s Villainous

For the Love of Disney

Looking for the perfect gift for the Super Disney fan in your life (maybe it’s you)? If so, we highly recommend getting Disney’s Villainous. A friend of ours told us about the game and we found a booth at D23 for the game. There we were able to check out the game and hear all about it. We were sold!! We decided to head over to target (because we had some gift cards) and buy the game for ourselves.

The Premise: Being bad has never been so good. You go through some of the events of popular Disney films playing the role of the villain. With the help of allies, special items, and sometimes curses to defeat the heroes and change your fate. You go through the came gaining power, playing cars, and using strategy to win the game. In true Villainous fashion, you are not only trying to win your game, but also preventing your opponents from winning their game. This is a strategy game. While the gamers say that this is an age 10+ game, we really recommend you play with teens, or young kids, who are very detailed oriented.

Why we like it: Again, being bad was soo fun. We like this game for a couple of reasons:

  1. The first What really keeps you on your toes with this game is that each player wins in a different way. If you get the main game and the two extension packs, you are ultimately learning to play the game in 12 different ways. It will take a while for this game to lose its charm as it takes a couple of games to master a character, and there are a ton of characters to choose from.
  1. The second reason we like the game is that the way to win mirrors the movies perfectly, so being familiar with the movie of the character you are playing is extremely helpful. The game creators did an excellent job capturing the essence of the movies and thinking of how the story would go if the Villain were to come out on top.
  1. The final reason why we like the game is in order to be successful in this game, you have to sabotage your opponents by playing fate cards. These cards make it difficult for your opponents to achieve their mission. This type of interaction between characters makes the game very unpredictable and exciting.

Villainous has a main pack as well as two extension packs. In the Main pack (Green), includes The Queen of Hearts, Jafar, Maleficent, Captain Hook, Ursula, and Little John. The Purple extension pack includes The Evil Queen, Dr. Facilier, and Hades. The Orange extension pack includes Scar, Yzma, and Ratagan.  At Target, each of the extension packs cost $25 and the main pack costs $27.50

We hope that you have a great time playing this game with family and friends just like we do.
