2017 Moonlight Magic Event

DVC

After my honeymoon, my husband and I decided to take a dive and join the Disney Vacation Club (DVC). We absolutely love Disney and plan to take a large trip to some of the international resorts. There are lots of  perks of being a member, one of which is you can go to a Moonlight Magic Event. The park is closed early for DVC members and their guest. You get to enjoy shorter wait times and free snacks. Initially I had no idea what to expect. It ended up being extremely magical. I was able to bring 5 other guest (My husband, Michaela, and 3 of our friends). Here are the top 5 things I loved about the event.

1) ALL THE FREE THINGS: Parking, admissions, popcorn, churros, ice cream, water, and soda. I have never been to Disneyland and spent less than $100 (That's with parking and sharing meals with my sister). It was great to go and really immerse myself in the magic without worrying about breaking the bank.

2) Short Ride Times: We went on a lot of rides. We were able to go on Peter Pan's Flight, Star Tours, Indiana Jones, Haunted Mansion, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and the Matter Horn (3 times) without waiting more than 20 minutes for each ride. Most of them we just walked on. The only way I have been able to experience these types of wait times is when I ditched school in the middle of the week.

3) Special Characters: We were able to see characters you rarely, if ever, see at the park. There was Ralph from Wreck-It-Ralph, Vanellope Von Schweetz, the princes (Eric, Phillip, Charming, etc) along with their princess, Jimmy Cricket, Geppetto, and the Blue Fairy just to name a few.  There was no heads up as to which special characters would be appearing, however, we received a special map that let us know where they would be.

4) Free Photo Pass: Having a photo pass at night is a really big deal. It is hard to capture the amazing lights with out looking washed out and vice-versa. Particularly for those with melanin, its hard not to just blend in with the night sky. The photographers literally have professional lighting out to capture your excitement along with the great Christmas decorations. You can see below our amazing photo in from of "It's A Small world". At the end of the night we could download all our photos for FREE!! Unfortunately we did not take full advantage of this (everyone in our party likes to take pictures like Michaela and I do), but next time I will.

5) VIP Treatment: All of these perks combined really made us feel very special. It is nice to know that there are some perks to our giant investment in the Disney Vacation Club. I can not wait to go again next year when the Moonlight event will be at California Adventures. This event also takes place at the various Disney World parks too, so you have options!

BONUS: I finally got to see the Rapunzel Tower (in between the Royal Hall and Royal Theater) light up and sing! It was amazing!!!!
